Hasselblad H4D-50 + HC 80mm f/2.8

Just published in DAP is my review of the Hasselblad H4D-50 (about $30,995), a 50 megapixel medium format digital camera. The H4D-50 and lenses were loaned to me by Hasselblad USA.

My H4D-50 review covers my experiences shooting it for 3 days in Yosemite, with commentary on ergonomics, use in field conditions, the HCD 28mm f/4 and HC 100mm f/2.2, and of course includes the usual high-res examples.

My H4D-50 review follows my extensive review of the Leica S2, and I discuss my perspective on both cameras in the H4D-50 review, in the perspective of my shooting goals.

Image quality is very high, but the most critical area is one sub-theme of Making Sharp Images: whether lenses designed years ago are up to the challenge of today’s huge high-resolution digital sensors.
