Reader Loves Zeiss 35/2 Distagon on Nikon D300

I recently emailed you about adding the Guide to Zeiss Lenses to my current subscription and for input regarding my choice between a new Zeiss lens and a Voigtlander lens.
After adding the Zeiss Guide, and reading many of your articles and tests, as well as reading your reviews of the Voigtlander lenses, I purchased the Zeiss ZF.2 35mm Distagon and am using it on my D300.
All I can say is WOW what a lens! It really isn't that difficult to focus properly and the way this thing draws is beautiful. This is an instant favourite for me. I can't wait to get it onto a full-frame camera.
I'm happy with this one. I usually shoot my 17-55 on my D300 and often in the 35-40 mm focal length. That lens is soft on a good day. I probably won't use the 35/2 Zeiss during weddings because I need the speed of autofocus, but for some portraits and many other uses I don't really need autofocus and this lens will shine because of it's image quality. Adding your Zeiss guide was money well spent.
DIGLLOYD: The Zeiss 35/2 Distagon is a great choice on compact cameras where the 35/1.4 Distagon might feel supersized compared to the camera.
