Dear Lloyd,
The in depth analysis of your guides, I was a subscriber for Zeiss, Infrared and DAP, have helped me greatly to improve my skills as 1st camera assistant in the motion picture industry.
In my field of work I am dealing with a wide variety of CineLenses which are normally more expensive than any photo lens you can get as they have to compensate for focus work and a uniformity over the whole range of focal lengths, i.e. color matching, flare and overall quality.
But I found that most of the technicians are not really well experienced in terms of resolution and understanding how the image is formed. So I wasn't either as there is no school who teaches about these things. Until I read your reviews.
They are comprehensible and easily read, the amount of examples and the detail you show and highlight is unmatched from what I know about in the web. Only after having read and understood the concepts of optics laid out by you I am able to make a professional assessment about the quality of lenses I am testing in the rental house
Also the transition from film to HD video in the motion picture industry was helped a lot by the knowledge you present. Now I am a proud owner of the Zeiss 100mm T2.0 Macro, 50mm T1.4, 28mm T2.0 and Canon 17mmT4 T/S. And infrared will be the next thing.
For everybody interested in quality of lenses and cameras, what to look for and what to trust I strongly recommend to subscribe to your guides before making any decisions on equipment.
Thank you for your work,
Mike
