Just published in DAP is a study of field curvature and color fringing with the new Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM.

Such studies fall under the “know your gear” umbrella.

The about $899 Canon 24mm f/2.8 IS is a lens I’m prepared to strongly recommend for any Canon user looking for a high quality autofocus prime lens, though it is ridiculous to have to pay $55 for the plastic (not included) Canon EW-65B Lens Hood. At least the hood can be shared between the 24/2.8 IS and the 28/2.8 IS.
