Reader Comment: Field Curvature

Fantastic piece on field curvature!
Perhaps your very best (to date). I continue to find the depth and originality of many of your reviews to be uniquely helpful in answering critical technical questions that manufacturers never want to candidly explain.
Your presentation of the problems related to field curvature demonstrates and explains the issue extremely well... and, as you point out, field curvature plagues many lenses to some noticeable degree.
For example, the Leica M 50 f/1.4 ASPH is an extraordinary lens, but it has significant field curvature issues and can produce very frustrating images. Your article underscores my enthusiasm and expectations for the Leica 50/2 APO ASPH that I hope arrives soon.
I guess it is time to follow up on your reminder message and resubscribe to my diglloyd bundle!
