Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM

My reporting on the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM on both Canon and Nikon has garnered interest for its high quality imagery relative to other 35/1.4 lenses.

But I want to be clear: I have not put the Sigma 35/1.4 DG HSM to extensive field use. But this is planned, as I deem the Sigma 35/1.4 DG HSM a lens worth buying for longer study. In the very short term I am hoping to post one distance comparison before I lose use of my right arm for at least a few days (shoulder surgery). So my reporting won’t be instant, but I do plan to make it thorough.

With all lenses and all tests it is critical to remember that lenses vary in their characteristics (sharpness near vs far, sharpness over the entire frame, field curvature, focus shift, flare, distortion, etc). The Sigma 35/1.4 is sure to show weaknesses somewhere, which I will report on when found.
