Delayed Return, Still up in White Mountains

Over the past week I was shooting extensively, but to the end of the week it was preparation for my race: I finished the Everest Challenge Stage race this weekend and had planned to return home today but the huge rim fire in the Yosemite area has complicated that plan. I’m delaying a few days and if necessary I’ll take a longer route home in a few days if it does not clear. Hwy 120 is nominally open, but between smoke and traffic jams and firefighting gear, I’m not clear on its status. Hwy 108 is the next crossing of the Sierra to the north, and presumably still clear at this time, so I’ll probably opt for that.

Any specific info readers have on Hwy 120 or 108 (first hand info and/or having driven through either in the past day or two) would be appreciated. Contact.

Ironically, last night was unusually clear in the White Mountains, with the Milky Way prominently visible. The smoke plume from the Yosemite area has not moved eastwards other than a slight encroachment over the Owens Valley.
