Leica M Typ 240 + Leica 50mm f/2 APO-Summicron-M ASPH: Rangefinder Maladjustment

Published in Guide to Leica is an experience report of rangefinder maladjustment with a brand-new Leica M Typ 240 and Leica 50mm f/2 APO-Summicron-M ASPH.

My Leica M240 and 50/2 AA have been sent to Leica for this and other issues.

I have documented my experience because I feel that the core technology and out of the box and over-time reliability are all considerations when choosing a photographic system.

While all cameras and lenses are subject to variation, and one should never assume that new gear is perfect, a super premium $14K system necessarily arrives with far higher expectations than a $3K system like the Sony RX1R (which performed flawlessly for me over far more frames).

EVF focus vs rangefinder focus (with 1.4X aid)
