I have a committment tomorrow, but I intend to start on the Fujifilm X-Pro2 stuff that I shot on Friday. I also shot some Zeiss Loxia 21/2.8 images—the Loxia 21/2.8 is a gem (manual focus and aperture are a big plus in the field for me, at least much of the time). At about $1499 it’s priced well above your ordinary lens, which is appropriate.
Below... the wind would not let up last night. By sheer luck of timing, my first shot (below) was just about sharp. The light was fading rapidly... another 25 tries or so and finally at ISO 25600 and 1/6 second @ f/2.8, I was able to make one more reasonably sharp image, but with much more noise than the one shown. These flowers flutter in the slightest breeze. I had wanted to make a variety of shots using this loner yellow standout against the violet carpet behind and around it (an eye-popping contrast), but the wind had other ideas. But I’m quite pleased with the image as it delivers what I envisioned. I could not get any closer; this is as close as the Loxia 21/2.8 focuses.
