Hasselblad XCD 65mm f/2.8 Aperture Series: View Over Brushy Desert to High Peaks, Very Late Dusk
This short aperture series from f/2.8 through f/6.3 evaluates far distance performance of the Hasselblad XCD 65mm f/2.8. It clearly shows the focus skew discussed in View Over Alabama Hills Formations, Last Light on High Peaks; it appears that it might be more of a lens mount/sensor parallelism issue than a lens issue.

With ultra low distortion, the true-to-life natural rendering of subject matter is highly appealing to my eye. Along with outstanding color and contrast and sharpness, the 65/2.8 is perhaps my top pick for the Hasselblad X1D II— and as one of the least expensive lenses of the Hasselblad XCD lens lineup, it’s a screaming value in that context.
