A reader and friend loaned me his Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II—“Sample3”, the first two being symmetry disasters.
This aperture series used a lens sample that show symmetric performance across the frame, seemingly a “good sample” that can be assessed for something approaching the best performance characteristics one might expect from the lens design.
