Exped Camping Mattresses: Outstanding for Outdoors, or Even Spare for Home/Vehicle
re: Gear for the Mountains
re: Staying Warm, Dry, Safe
I like to call out truly exceptional product that I use, because I know from feedback just how hard it is to sort through all the marketing BS out there—finding the right product that really works can be an expensive and time-consuming experience.
I’ve used Exped camping mattresses for 15 years or so now, along with various other quality gear*.
In my Sprinter van, I use the Exped Megamat @AMAZON and it is awesome right down to 0°F even in a tent (yes, I’ve done that). The Exped Dura 8R @AMAZON is also awesome, and useful for cold backpacking conditions... or just if you want an ultra comfortable night, as I do.

Exped has not only stayed on track with quality products, their warranty coverage is unbelievably good. Every failure I’ve had (three, after very heavy usage for many years) has been promptly dealt with hassle-free by product replacement within one week.
Exped products get my very highest recommendation, both for their comfort as well as warranty support.
* Some of which has regrettably become crapified or been sold to bloated companies like Five Ten to Adidas, which then ruins the entire product line with shitty redesigns.

BTW, another awesome product is the MSR Guardian water purifier. I used it heavily on my past two trips. Carry an empty bottle during the hike in, then fill it later. With two people, the savings in weight carried can save carrying up to 12 pounds of water in a single day hike (3 liters = 6.6 pounds X 1 people)—and the pump only weighs ~1 pounds. And if you ever have an emergency, the Guardian can turn swamp water into safe drinking water, for 10000 liters.
