Bokeh for Defocused Background Point Sources
This page evaluates bokeh for out of focus point and semi-point sources.
Bokeh depend on a variety of factors:
- Amount of defocus.
- Subject matter itself.
- Number of aperture blades, also straight or curved blades.
- Aperture: wide open (no blades visible) or stopped down (diffraction effects come into play).
- Aspheric vs spherical elements and the means of grinding/shaping them.
Strongly out of focus bokeh
Here the lens is focused near its close focusing limit with the light sources about 21 feet / 7 meters distant, putting them strongly out of focus.
