Fujifilm GF 250mm f/4 R LM OIS WR

MTF for Fujifilm GF 250mm f/4 R LM OIS WR

Like most brands, Fujifilm does a lame job at publishing MTF charts—wide open only, and no description of the spectral balance for the claimed performance, and it looks to be diffraction-ignoring computed fantasy MTF to boot—not measured with a real lens. The fact that Fujifilm does not publish anything but wide open performance is disappointing, and even that is not explicitly stated.

Overall lens contrast at f/4 is outstanding over the entire frame for coarse, medium, fine structures. Probably f/4.5 is optimal, if only to tweak the corners slightly; after that f/5.6 will only drop contrast from diffraction—worth keeping in mind on the GFX100 and GFX100S.

Field usage shows outstanding performance.
