Fujifilm GFX

Shutter and Shutter Modes

The statement by Fujifilm that a mirrored camera has vibration issues that degrades image sharpness by up to 15% is not to be taken lightly: one can compare megapixels, but if a decade of assessing cameras and lenses has taught me anything, it’s about time that having a huge mirror (or bang-bang shutter as with Sony A7R) vibrating the heck out of image quality is an approach destined for the dumpster.

Fujifilm has apparently not only quieted the shutter vibration, but went to some trouble to do the shutter right. I don’t yet understand all these options or how to use them, but it looks to cover all the bases. Kudos to Fujifilm for doing it right.
