Fujifilm GFX100S: Loss of Sharpness with Distortion Correction Even for Near-Zero Distortion Lens

re: Fujifilm GF35-70mm: Distortion and Distortion Correction @ 35mm, 47mm, 63mm, 70mm.

The Fujifilm GF 35-70mm f/4.5-5.6 at 65mm and thereabouts has very low distortion that most vendors would reasonably characterize as “zero distortion”. It should be fine to use distortion correction on such lenses, since it will have no negative effects, right? Wrong.

Not until 2021 did Adobe Camera Raw have a change that allows turning off distortion correction—but only in newer cameras like the GFX100S and Sony A1, not their predecessors, and definitely not with the GFX100 and so not with images made prior. S o all my images from 2019/2020/2021 with the GFX100 still have forced-on distortion correction in ACR. Obviously Adobe could fix this inconsistent mess, but so far has not done so.
