Hasselblad HC 50mm f/3.5 II

MTF

The Hasselblad HC 50mm f/3.5 II covers the huge 54.3 X 40.0 mm sensor of the Hasselblad H6D-100C. That sensor size has a diagonal of 67.4mm, which means an image distance of 33.7mm from center, well within what the MTF chart shows (out to about 35mm).

Wide open performance shows moderately high contrast for coarse and medium structures which changes minimally with stopping down in central areas, but improves greatly in outer areas.

Micro contrast wide open at f/3.5 is near optimal in the center but declines steadily to the corners, probably due at least in part to field curvature. Stopping down to f/8 bumps micro contrast up to a uniformly high value from center to corner. Given the very large coverage of 67mm (vs 43mm for the 35mm format), this performance is very strong.
