MTF

MTF is shown below at f/3.5 and f/8 for both infinity focus and MOD (Minimum Object Distance) at a reproduction ratio of 1:9.6.

In summary: consider the 30/3.5 to offer performance at least as good as Leica’s best 24mm lens, but over a much larger sensor area—quite a feat.

Infinity

Wide open at f/3.5, central sharpness is outstanding—razor sharp, though shy of what the Zeiss Otus 28/1.4 is capable of. Peak performance across the entire field might improve a bit to f/4 to f/5.6 but this is not shown; by f/8 it is declining, perhaps not just because of diffraction, but also because of a mild focus shift, which at least at close range is easily observed.
