Leica S2

Examples: Day 1 Experiments

This page includes some quick exploratory examples I made within the first few hours of receiving the camera.

These sorts of images (and many others that I take, examine and throw away), help me explore how the camera behaves. Some are not so interesting as creative images, but nevertheless instructive.

RAW file processing

Images have been minimally processed (white balance and sharpening), unless noted, using Adobe Camera RAW in Photoshop CS5 (ACR). In most cases, Smart Sharpen of {100, 0.2, 0} was applied, though I sometimes reduce that amount to 40-60 for higher contrast images.

ACR wants to add +40 magenta to the color balance; the images turn out rather green without this correction. I set this between +30 and +40.
