Sharpening in Leaf Capture

To establish expectations and provide context for the other examples, let’s look at a variety of sharpening results from Leaf Capture. Leaf Capture does a superb job bringing out the incredible detail of the Mamiya DL28.

The Leaf Capture software provides Radius/Intensity/Smooth settings for sharpening. A Radius of 2 is the minimum value allowed by the Leaf software.

Without sharpening

With sharpening off (Intensity 0), the image lacks a little snap, but its inherent detail is still apparent, much stronger detail than one sees without sharpening with cameras like the Sony A900; this is almost certainly due to the lack of an anti-aliasing (blur) filter in the Leave Aptus-II 6 back.
