Phase One IQ4

PhaseOne IQ4 Format Equivalent Focal Length, F-Stop, Depth of Field

For a general understanding of format equivalence, see Format-Equivalent Depth of Field and F-Stop.

Format equivalence quick summary, assuming 53.4 X 40.0mm IQ4 sensor vs 35mm*:

eDoF = equivalent Depth of Field

 28mm f/4.5 ~=  19mm f/3.0 eDoF
 35mm f/3.5 ~=  24mm f/2.4 eDoF
 40mm f/4   ~=  27mm f/2.7 eDoF
 45mm f/3.5 ~=  30mm f/2.4 eDoF
 55mm f/2.8 ~=  34mm f/1.9 eDoF
 80mm f/2.8 ~=  54mm f/1.9 eDoF
 80mm f/4   ~=  54mm f/2.7 eDoF
110mm f/2.8 ~=  74mm f/1.9 eDoF
150mm f/2.8 ~= 101mm f/1.9 eDoF
240mm f/4.5 ~= 162mm f/3.0 eDoF

* Nominal 35mm sensor 36.0 X 24.0 mm. Some sensors are slightly smaller. Actual focal lengths of real lenses are often rounded, as are some f-stops e.g., f/5.6 is really f/5.657 ~= f/5.7.
