Color to Monochrome: Mixing Channels

Mixing channels is similar to a Black and White filter layer and to the Black and White Mixer

Channel mixer

For reasons I do not understand, the channel mixer does not give you the individual color channels one might expect from a mix of 100/0/0 or 0/100/0 or 0/0/100. Go figure.

Like a Black and White filter layer, the Channel Mixer is done after raw conversion, as a layer over a color image.

Unlike Black and White filter layer which mixes colors, it mixes the color channels in percentages, which depends also on the color space. I use it much less than the Black and White filter layer, but at times it offers a different sort of flexibility, and can be useful.
