Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L I and II

Very sharp images in central 2/3 of the frame, with detail becoming smeared near the corners even at f/11. Sample quality varies widely. Hot spots become troublesome by f/8, with shorter focal lengths more problematic.

Hot spots are pronounced. Stopping down beyond f/5.6, particularly in difficult lighting, usually produces unacceptable results, though the red and green channels might be usable. Behavior is essentially the same as the 16-35mm f/2.8L II.

Overall, the 16-35mm f/2.8L offers remarkable focus, achieving excellent accuracy without filtration.
