Outstanding sharpness in infrared, but under some conditions hot spots become noticeable by f/8, or even f/5.6.

Though I’ve achieved pleasing results with this lens (see Sept 4, 2006 blog entry), caution must be exercise when stopping down beyond f/4 at the wide end, and f/5.6 at the long end.
