Hot spots and strong backfocus make working with this lens a hassle. Field experience showed hot spots to be extremely strong in some cases with bright areas, so strong as to destroy (“blow out”) image detail in the center of the frame.

At 70mm, backfocus is not large, but a B+W 091 nearly corrects it, with a B+W 092 eliminating it.
