Books on Infrared Photography

I have not yet found a printed book on digital infrared (or infrared) that I can unequivocally recommend; each of the books reviewed below has its shortcomings. There are many books that I haven’t seen, so there are likely some gems out there, though finding something on digital infrared might be more of a challenge.

Naturally, I think this Guide covers most of what you need to know about digital infrared—I wrote it for that purpose. However, reading additional materials (books, web, etc) all contributes to a more inclusive understanding of the medium.

Review: “Digital Infrared Photography—Professional Techniques and Images”, by Patrick Rice

Overall, this book is well written with some interesting tidbits, but the reader must bear in mind that my understanding of infrared seems to be circa 2002, and thus not a good way to become acquainted with digital infrared shooting as of 2010.
