Pentax 645Z: 50 vs 36 Megapixels (25mm / 21mm, Actual Pixels)

The goal here is to compare actual pixels from each camera using the same processing settings.
- Sharpening dialed down to Amount = 40 for both (suitable for further sharpening).
- Brightness (luminance) matched to within one point on the white gown of angel Faith.
- JPEGS saved at near lossless quality.
- ProPhotoRGB color space to preserve the full gamut in the crops with the golden tiles.
The format equivalent apertures are f/8 for the Sony A7R versus f/11 for the Pentax 645Z. The Pentax 25mm f/4 is better at f/8 centrally (diffraction losses visible at f/11), but better at f/11 in peripheral areas. Hence both apertures are shown for the 645Z.
